It went a little something like this:

We fell in love... We got married...
I was blessed with the gift of pregnancy (and gained a whole bunch of weight)...

I nested and decided that our SUV just wouldn't do for a family of four, so we bought a new SUV:We had a beautiful baby girl, our miracle baby...

Our baby girl hated being in the car and cried every time we put her in...

We bought the baby toys hoping to make the baby happy in the car...

The toys didn't work, so we bought the baby snacks:
When the snacks didn't work, we decided to try a new car seat:and music. Music sooths all crying babies....right?When the music didn't work, we bought the baby mirrors. Mirrors are supposed to make babies happy:
Oh wait...how about another new car seat...that should do the trick:The new car seat didn't work, so we bought a new car:The new car didn't make the baby stop crying, so we bought DVD players...so that baby could watch the squirrel:

When the squirrel didn't work, I prayed even harder, needing the answers on how to make baby happy in the car...

and the only answer that came, was the only answer that has been here all along.

My sweet, beautiful, heaven sent baby girl has a much smaller cerebellum than other babies.

My beautiful baby girl has difficulty with her balance and my beautiful baby girl is probably fighting car sickness each and every time she is in her car seat.

That is the only answer I can find because my baby girl can't tell me why she is so upset...each and every time we are in the car.

I prayed and prayed for answers and this was the only answer that ever came.

It hurts my heart to see her so sad each and every time we are in the car.

My sweet baby cries and holds her head and reaches out for me to help her, but I don't know what else to do...but continue to pray.

Your prayers are coveted.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Please continue to hear our prayers for Addie. May you give Jenn and Chris the guidance needed to help Addie become comfortable in the car and in every aspect of life that they may encounter. Just place your hands on this sweet family Lord and protect them and watch over them. These things I ask in your precious and Holy name. Amen

Just an idea, but have you tried giving her ginger snaps or gingerale before a car trip? Ginger is supposed to be a natural remedy for motion sickness and might help out.

Hope you find something that will work soon.

Jennifer, I love reading about Addie and all of the great things that she does. I am sorry that she is having a hard time in the car. This may be a crazy idea, but when I was pregnant, I read that morning sickness is similiar to motion sickness. I read somewhere to try these little wrist bands made for motion sickness. Well I was desperate and tried them. I think Walgreens sold them at the time. It actually seemed to help.

My oldest child cried for at least the first year - year and 1/2 of his life in the car, if not more.
So, I could relate to much of your post of the new seat, the snacks, the toys, the mirror. We too tried all of those Nothing worked for us either, but I never really thought about motion sickness. So, I just did a quick search on motion sickness and children. I learned that motion sickness can happen when your brain is sent different signals..like when you are reading in the car. Signals are sent that you are doing both at the same time and thus results in motion sickness. The website methodist health (I think) suggested sunglasses to help as it reduces visual stimulation. I know often kids will not wear sunglasses , but it is just a thought. I hope you do not mind me throwing those suggestions out there. I will keep you all in my thought and prayers.
