It wasn't news I wanted to hear.
I talked to the Atlanta surgeons office twice yesterday - and I must say - I was pleased with them.
Very nice, very willing to answer my questions.
However, Mom is not a surgical candidate.
To sum it up, issues with her vascular system and scar tissue were the deciding factors.
Symptom management is never what anyone wants to hear. I personally think that answer just sucks, but as with Addie, I am staying positive and I know that Addie wouldn't be where she is today if we didn't fight for her - and the same approach for my Mother.
We will do whatever we can to help her improve as much as possible.
The only thing that is so hard to digest is knowing that we (as a nation), have the capability to put people on another planet...or well, we used to be able to...and we have the ability to clone people, but we can't figure out how to fix a heart that isn't working.
Yes. I say that knowing full well that I sit behind a desk each and every day and not in a research lab somewhere.
I am turning my attention to getting through this incredibly busy week and then enjoying Christmas with my family
and
with all hope that the other options sitting before us will allow a better quality of life for my Mother - because she deserves it.
