Thank you to everyone who voted for Addie in The Birmingham Parent Magazine photo contest!
SHE WON!!!!
I got the phone call yesterday afternoon and was thrilled to say the very least! Part of me feels really bad for the children who didn't win, because I know it must have meant a lot to each of their families.
I was told that it may be as late as the fall before we know when the photo shoot will be. Addie will be featured on one of the 2009 covers. I asked if it was possible to also publish an article about Microcephaly in the edition that Addie will be featured in. At this time, I have no idea if that would even be allowed. I have to talk with someone else at the magazine and they will make that decision. I really feel like this is God's way of allowing me to educate people about Addie's condition and to continue to spread the word of the miracles that HE continues to work through her. Winning this contest was important to me for that reason and I hope I get the chance to continue my quest of helping people understand how truly amazing special needs children are.
Thank you to each and every one of you who took the time to vote. I hope this will open new doors for Addie and help people appreciate God's most special angels!
How a diagnosis of Microcephaly changed the lives of so many people.
