I'm going to move through this quickly...
Due to the nature of Mom's surgery, the doctor "saved" tissue so that he could go back in this week and close the incision site.
The tissue died.
The hope is to send Mom home with a big open wound - praying all the while that infection stays away.
Then...take her back to surgery, do a skin graft so that the wound can be closed.
Despite all the crap Mom is going through, her spirits are pretty good.
The last two days, her blood sugar has dropped to such an alarming level that the doctors did not feel it was safe to send her home.
Maybe tomorrow...
