Chunk and Omnicef

I couldn't delay any longer. After weeks of fighting the germ infestation, we went to see Dr. Davis today. Good news is that Monkey's tubes are clear and still in place. The "bad" news is that Monkey Chunk has another upper respiratory infection and is just miserable.

When I started telling Dr. Davis about all the fevers and problems we have had over the last several months, he brought up what I knew was coming. We are going to watch Monkey over the next couple of months (if she responds to the antibiotics) and then see how many more URI's she has. If the problems continue, Dr. Davis will do a sleep study, followed by an adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy. All of which is perfectly fine by me!

Although nothing is set in stone, I can tell you that I am already dreading the thought of a sleep study. Dr. Davis will not do the surgery without the sleep study on a special needs patient. I am grateful that he takes surgery so seriously and takes every precaution. He has a daughter with special needs and I don't doubt for a second that he is a better doctor because of his daughter.

So, here we are...living in our wait and see world.

14-20

1st place for the regular season
and
2nd place for the championship

Coming in 2nd place is nothing to be ashamed of, but it still hurts a bit. The boys gave it their all and put up a great fight, but all it took was one extra touch down to end the season. We didn't walk away with a championship title, but I wasn't disappointed. It was a wonderful season and the boys never gave in. I can't wait for next year, Julien makes me so proud and I know that next year will be just as great, if not better!

O-U-C-H

I don't know who this poor child was on the opposing team, but man did he take a cleat to the stomach! That's called determination...

Caved

Chris just couldn't help himself and had to get a picture of Sara Evans. I told him that she has a website full of beautiful pictures, but I guess it just wasn't the same. The poor woman can't even go to a kids football game without being harassed for pictures... At least my husband only ogled her from across the field!

Game 2 of the playoffs

Today was the playoffs for the Titans.
They made it to game 2 still undefeated for the season. The team worked well together, played hard in the freezing cold and came away with another win. We immediately changed fields and started game 3...the final game of the season.

Necklaces to complement her bracelets.

It takes very little to make Monkey happy. She is so proud of her new necklaces!

Helena Christmas Parade

Good grief...that was a lot of candy!

Julien and his teammates were in the Helena Christmas Parade this afternoon. In preparation for the big event, I made a trip to Target to pick up a few bags of candy... just a few.

Julien had such a great time in the parade and the weather was perfectly fitting for the day. It's not too often in Alabama that we really get to enjoy the cold weather. Christmas in short sleeves is not a far too distant memory. We had nothing to complain about today!

Chunky Monkey is fighting yet another cold, so I kept her in the car for as long as I could before the parade started. There was no way that either one of us was going to miss it!

E.R. Baby snuggled in close to Monkey as the parade started and Monkey was so sweet and said "hi" to everyone! You should have seen how excited Monkey was to see Julien come by! To top off her excitement, she got three necklaces, which she is madly in love with!

These are memories that will last a lifetime!
